Join me on tour for The Shutouts this December!

December 3, LA: Launch at Stories in Echo Park! I’ll be in conversation with Olivia Gatwood. You don’t need a ticket, but if you’re coming you can preorder the book from the bookstore.

December 5, NYC: The Strand in Manhattan! I’m so excited that they’re having me back for the second year in a row. I’ll be in conversation with Haley Jakobson, and you do need tickets for this one.

December 9, PDX: Powell’s in Portland! I’ll be in conversation with Emme Lunde. You don’t need a ticket, but if you’re coming you can preorder from the bookstore.

December 10, LA: Silver Lake Reading Club! This is such a lovely event that takes place Tuesday evenings Lamill Coffee. I’m so excited to read at it; you do need tickets, and these usually sell out in advance.

December 12, LA: Zibby’s in Santa Monica! For my west-side friends, I’ll be in conversation with Swan Huntley. You don’t need tickets, but you can preorder the book from the store.

December 13, LA: Sunny’s in Tarzana! I’m so excited to close out the tour in conversation with my friend Celia Laskey. It’s free, but you can reserve your spot so they know how many seats to put out.

A conversation and Q&A with writers Megan Giddings (The Women Could Fly), Sierra Greer (Annie Bot), Gabrielle Korn (Yours For the Taking), and Katie Williams (My Murder). This event is hosted by Reema Zaman and presented by The Rumpus.

Sunday, September 29 at 1pm: The Future is Female Dystopian at the Brooklyn Book Festival

Helen Phillips’ Hum follows May, a wife and a mother who has lost her job to AI after she undergoes an experimental facial surgery that makes her unrecognizable to everyday surveillance. Clare Beams’ The Garden explores the pressures of motherhood as Irene, desperate to start a family, suffers a series of miscarriages and goes to an infertility institution with questionable practices and a mysterious garden. Set in a dystopian Brooklyn, Gabrielle Korn’s Yours for the Taking follows several women trying to survive a world destroyed by climate change. Even in worlds ripped apart, for these women, the future is worth fighting for.
